Our Summer
Camp
Your Habitat for a Montessori-Inspired Summer Experience.
A Children’s Habitat is excited to offer 6 themed camp weeks, for ages 3* to 9 years of age. Children are invited to join us in the Outdoor Classroom while exploring subjects like the mighty jungle, the United States, and world celebrations. Each week will have a focused theme and planned curriculum, though student-led activities are encouraged. Themes are outdoor-oriented, geared to foster an appreciation for our natural environment.
All camps run Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM–12:00 PM, and take place exclusively in our Outdoor Classroom; though campers will be moved promptly to our indoor classrooms in the event of inclement weather. Children will need to bring a sack lunch each day. Camp cost is $160 per week with a $60 non-refundable deposit required. Deposits will be applied toward your total camp fee with the remaining balance ($100) due the Monday of each camp week. Please return your registration form and deposit to A Children’s Habitat, c/o Summer Camp, 801 West 73rd Street, Indianapolis, IN 46260. WE MUST HAVE EVERYTHING TO RESERVE YOUR SPACE.
Should enrollment reach capacity in your desired camp, you may request to be added to the waitlist.
Please direct all summer camp questions to Director of Education, Liz Williams, or to the school office.
*All children age 3 by June 1, 2024, and toilet trained are invited to participate.
TOUR Our Outdoor
CLASSROOM VIRTUALLY
A Day In The Life.
The camp day begins and ends in our half-acre Outdoor Classroom, rain or shine (though campers will be moved promptly to our indoor classrooms in the event of inclement weather). While each week has a focused theme and planned curriculum to launch each day, student-led activities and exploration are encouraged and teachers will follow the lead of the children to guide appropriate content that is relevant to the theme or a spin-off of that theme. Children enjoy working together, creatively problem-solving, engaging in open-ended experiences that foster curiosity and exploration. Campers end their day with social exchange during lunch and a closing wrap up to seat the experience and seed the next day.
